Safety and
Reporting
Even though METO connects only people who met in person, you never have to tolerate harmful behavior.
Prohibited content and conduct
- Illegal conduct, facilitation of crime, credible threats, or violence
- Bullying, harassment, discrimination, hate, or stalking
- Child exploitation or sexualization, and non-consensual sexual content
- Impersonation, fraud, spam, or abusive solicitation
- Sharing addresses, contact details, or other private information without permission
- Copyright, likeness, privacy, or other rights violations
- Unauthorized access or interference with authentication, Meet, reporting, or blocking
Who reviews reports
METO's designated moderation administrator reviews reports. Reporter information is not disclosed to the reported person unless required by law.
Response targets
We aim to triage reports within 24 hours. Credible threats to life or physical safety, child safety issues, and non-consensual sexual content receive priority. We aim to reach a decision within 72 hours when investigation is required.
Decisions and enforcement
We consider context, danger, harm, repetition, and intent. Actions may include removal, warning, feature restriction, temporary suspension, or permanent termination. Child exploitation, credible violent threats, and serious illegal conduct may result in immediate removal and permanent termination on a first violation.
How to report and block
Open the menu for a user, post, or comment and select Report. Blocking removes the connection and hides posts and messages in both directions. If there is an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services in addition to reporting it to METO.
Appeals
If you believe an action was mistaken, email meto.app.official@gmail.com with the account, action, and reason. Where practical, the appeal will be reviewed from a perspective independent of the original decision.
